Keep your tasks—and Claude—up to date

Use clear notes and statuses so you and Claude work from the same facts.

You change a task on your dashboard and wonder if Claude knows.

Choose the right status

A status is a quick label for where a task stands. Open means you have not started. In progress means you are working on it. Pending response means you need a reply. Blocked means something is stopping you.

Complete means you finished what you promised. Cancelled means you chose not to do it. These are not the same. A cancelled task should not look like a promise you kept.

Use notes to explain the change. For example: “Sent the report. Waiting for the client’s comments.” Keep the first sentence or two clear so they remind you what the task is about.

Do this now

Open one real task. Choose the status that matches what has happened, then add a clear first sentence to its note. Save the change.

Ask Claude to catch up

ScoutTracker keeps a record of saved task changes. Claude can read those changes when you use the connector. That includes changes you make on the dashboard.

But a saved change does not wake up Claude or send it an automatic alert. At the start of a chat, ask Claude to read recent changes. This helps it give advice based on what is true now.

Before making another edit, check the latest task. This matters if you and Claude both made changes. Ask Claude to report whether its save worked. If it failed, the task is still unresolved. For an important change, check the dashboard yourself.

Do this now

Ask Claude to read recent ScoutTracker changes and tell you the status and note you just saved. Compare its answer with your dashboard before making another edit.

Ask Claude

Read my current ScoutTracker tasks and recent changes before you advise me. Tell me what changed. If you do not know where our last review ended, say so. Here is an update for [task]: [what happened]. Suggest a status and a short note. Check the latest task before saving, and confirm the result.

The takeaway

ScoutTracker saves the changes. Ask Claude to read them when you check in.
